One of the cockatiels, Sunny, has been bleeding from a broken feather for a couple of days. It is very scary to wake up in the morning and find large drops of bird blood on the bottom of the cage. So today, when my step daughter stopped by to pick up her daughter, who we watch on Saturdays, she and my wife performed surgery to remove the wounded feather. This is a picture of the patient after the operation. She seems to be recovering quite nicely.
