Sign of the Times?

Here in my neck of the woods, a young man was arrested on the 4Th of July for defacing stop signs in town by adding the words "Bush" and "War" to them. He was originally charged with a felony (!!!), but the prosecutor allowed him to bargain down to a misdemeanor. This means he will have to:

1-pay $1572 for the signs

2-pay $120 in costs

3-be on probation for 2 years

4-do community service for 150 hours

This is a man, by the way, with no prior record of any kind. I suppose he should have exposed a C.I.A. agent, and then he would have gotten off much lighter.

It would be easier to love my country if the justice meted out would suck less . . . .
