Working my butt off:

The posts have been nonexistent lately because I'm in the midst of the music festival where I work. Twelve days and nights of classical, blues, folk, chamber and all manner of musical genres. It's wonderful, but it takes a lot of effort and hours to put on.

I thought I'd post some pictures from one of the recent concerts by a young string trio called Time For Three.
They were utterly amazing, and had the crowd of mostly classical music fans up on their feet and hollering between every song. These three classically trained musicians break down the borders between musical styles, and go right from a beautiful Brahms composition to Orange Blossom Special, or the Beatles' Blackbird. And their between song patter was funny and charming.

The concert took place during one of our rare Northern California summer rains, and the music was counterpointed by a gentle patter on the roof above. The Tf3 guys took hold of the audience and had us in the palms of their collective hands for the two hours they plays, ending with a self composed song called Hymn that brought everyone back to earth. It was one of the best performances I've ever attended.

If you get the chance to see Time For Three, grab it! And buy their live CD, We Just Burned This for You. They are a force of nature, and are not to be missed. These fellows ROCK!
