January afternoon

The weather this January has been quite drier and warmer than usual. Where normally we would be dealing with rain and chilly temperatures, the days have been mostly clear, sunny, and mild. I took a quick walk around the backyard and documented what I saw:

This is a rhododendron beginning its growth toward blossoming. A bit early, in my experience.

A new rose is coming in here to replace the decaying one one the left.

The pampas grass catches the golden light of the afternoon sun.

The calla lilies are beginning their life cycle as well.

Floral drama in our yard.

There's a lot of beauty out there, and a lot of life springing forth.
