Friday Random 10 plus 5

The Friday Random Ten (Plus 5) is like a sort of Rorschach test of musical tastes. Things turn up that I listen to infrequently (if ever) but which I have decided to leave on the hard drive for whatever reason. And some things I ABSOLUTELY LOVE also appear. Here we go:

Big John's Special/The Benny Goodman Orchestra/The Famous Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert 1938
Tonight And Forever/Joe Jackson/Big World
Charity Shop Sketch #2/Benbenek/BENBENEK - Charity Shop Pop!
Cool For Cats/Squeeze/Cool For Cats
Afterglow 61/Son Volt/Okemah And The Melody Of Riot
Recessional/Vienna Teng/Dreaming Through The Noise
Lift Me Up/Stewart Pack & the Royal Treatment/The Royal Treatment
Do What You Want/Ok Go/Oh No
Trumpet, Trumpet, Toot! Toot!/Sunset Rubdown/Random Spirit Lover
Baby, I Just Got the Blues/TK Major/A Year of Songs
Some Ballet Music/Frank Zappa/Easy Rider Generation
War Anthem/Hammers of Misfortune/The Locust Years
Holiday/James McMurtry/Childish Things
Unsung (Alternate Mix)/Ministry/Rantology
Who Do You Think You're Fooling/Capt. Beefheart & His Magic Band

James McMurtry has a new one out called Just Us Kids. He's one artist who I buy anything from, and have not been disappointed yet.

"I didn't mean to say it. But I meant what I said." ~ James McMurtry, "Too Long in the Wasteland"

With a range of songs available to me like the ones listed randomly above, I always find musical satisfaction. Life is good!
